A thrilling piece of art located on the outskirts of Newcaslte, in Gateshead, which can be identified when entering the city, The Angel of the North rises 20 metres high above the Tyne & Wear landscape with an impressive wingspan of 54 metres. You can also see the famous Tyne Bridge, a beautiful through-arch bridge from Newcastle to Gateshead - craftsmanship which just cannot be missed!
Newcastle upon Tyne is also home to Premier League football club – Newcastle United F.C. along with their fantastic venue, the Sports Direct Arena known to the locals as St James’ Park. The ground is located within the centre of Newcastle and has a staggering capacity of 52,405. As well as their sporting venues, the city also consists of the Metro Radio Arena where internationally recognised artists and musicians have performed.
